BridgeGate LLC, concludes search for Walmart.com. Ashwin Rangan Selected as new Chief Information Officer

BridgeGate LLC announced today the successful completion of an executive search to identify and select a new Chief Information Officer for Walmart.com, the online division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
IRVINE CA., April 21 – BridgeGate LLC announced today that it has successfully concluded an executive recruiting assignment for the position of Chief Information Officer for its client Walmart.com. Walmart.com is the fastest growing division of the world’s largest company, Fortune #1, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT).
Effective April 18, 2005, technology industry veteran Ashwin Rangan has assumed his new role as Walmart.com’s Chief Information Officer. In this position, Mr. Rangan and his organization will be chartered with the design and development of Walmart.com’s portfolio of customer facing technology solutions. Additionally, Mr. Rangan will play a key leadership role in integrating and leveraging the online channel with their parent company, Bentonville, Ark., based Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNXT) of Newport Beach, CA Mr. Rangan headed the company’s complex global information technology and process transformation teams during a 10 year period of rapid global expansion that included several acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to Conexant, Mr. Rangan held various senior leadership positions with AST Research, which was acquired by Samsung of Korea.
