BPM Software Co. Savvion Names Marketing SVP, Adds Biz Dev VP

Savvion Inc., a provider of business process management software, has named Patrick Morrissey as senior vice president of marketing and added Michael Norwood to the newly created position of VP of business development.

Morrissey replaces Don Nanneman, who served as VP of marketing for nearly five years and left the company three months ago.

Morrissey served most recently as VP of marketing for planning and enterprise performance management at Business Objects SA. He was with Business Objects for more than four years and previously held posts at Web consultancy Scient Inc., which merged with iXL Enterprises Inc. in 2001, and at ad network firm McCann Erickson Advertising Ltd.

Norwood joins from Worksoft Inc., where he served as VP of business development. Previously Norwood worked at business technology optimization company Mercury Interactive Corp. In his new role at Savvion, Norwood will manage and develop relationships with strategic alliance partners, channels, systems integrators and resale partners.

Savvion's flagship BusinessManager software is designed to help enterprises control business operations, generate online reports and communicate with pre-existing applications. Among other components, the product includes a graphical process modeling and simulation system, tools for workflow automation and event management, and tools to manage business rules and policies.

Savvion has raised more than $46 million from investors including D-Age Capital, H.I.G. Ventures, Redwood Venture Partners, VantagePoint Venture Partners, Walden International, Westaim Corp., and Trans Cosmos Inc.
